Author Notes

Gwendolyn Faith Hunter is an author of fantasy and thriller novels. She writes as Faith Hunter in the fantasy genre and Gwen Hunter for her thriller novels. She also colaborates on thrillers with author Gary Leveille using the joint name Gary Hunter.

Hunter was raised in Louisiana and graduated from college with a degree in Allied Health Technology. She soon began working in a rural hospital. She found her passion for writing and published her first book in the Garrick Travis Series entitled - "Death Warrant". She has continued her writing carreer with the Rhea Lynch, M.D. Series the DeLande Saga Series and the Rogue Mage Series She has also written several stand alone books like Blackwater Secrets, Rapid Descent, and His Blood Like Tears.

But loyalties run deeper than law among the undead, and one local vampire VIP has a grudge against Jane for destroying his son. Jane gets into a complicated stew involving human and vampire rivalries, the ancient vampire-witch conflict, the New Orleans police, and her need to balance her beast and human natures. In the second novel in Hunter's new paranormal series (after Skinwalker), vampire hunter Jane Yellowrock is still in New Orleans, recovering from her previous encounter with a rogue vampire. Beast, the big cat who shares Jane's consciousness, is ready to hunt and mate, and Jane has a difficult time controlling her wild side. Fortunately, there's a new problem to investigate-someone is violating age-old vampire rules, wreaking havoc with the already-tenuous clan structure in the Big Easy's overcrowded vampire underworld. The problem quickly becomes personal when Jane's witch friends are abducted to power the vampire rituals, and Beast's power, strength, and skill help Jane hunt down a cold-blooded killer. VERDICT Jane Yellowrock is one of the most intriguing new heroines in urban fantasy, and Hunter skillfully doles out tiny pieces of Jane's backstory to keep readers coming back for more. Mystery and action are at the forefront here, but the romance from the first book continues to build slowly.
