Horn Book Review

While many fractured fairy tales are pure fun, these six tales have been recast as horror stories, with many of the main characters ending up dead. The grim stories lack imagination, and the creepy full-color illustrations, while including some diversity in the rendering of the protagonists (e.g., a brown-skinned Jack, an Asian Snow White), are merely serviceable.
