Summary
Summary
Gwendolyn Carlisle loves fairies, perhaps too much. On her birthday, she receives the precious "kiss" necklace which has been passed down from mother to daughter ever since Peter Pan gave it to Wendy Darling. That night, Gwendolyn has the first of her visions--tantalizing, lifelike visions, almost as if she were actually in Fairy Haven. She sees animaltalent fairy Beck give a pie to wise Mother Dove and hears the voices of water-talent Rani and even Tinker Bell herself.
More than anything, Gwendolyn wishes she could be there. When she is just about to lose hope, Peter Pan comes at last and blows fairy dust on her. The instant they reach Never Land, she sets out to find fairies. But the fairies are not eager to meet her.
Then the evil Kyto, a dragon the fairies once helped to capture, escapes. He intends to destroy Never Land, starting with Fairy Haven. The fairies have but one choice: they must stop Kyto. As they set out on their desperate quest--a quest that could be their very last--the fairies must decide if Gwendolyn can help or hinder. . . .
Infused with magic and feeling, and bursting with excitement, this thrilling tale is the third in the celebrated series of illustrated novels from Newbery Honor winning author Gail Carson Levine and renowned illustrator David Christiana.

Horn Book Review
Levine's third Never Land adventure stars Gwendolyn, descendant of Wendy Darling. Gwendolyn is thrilled to visit Never Land and spend time with the fairies, even though she's a "Clumsy." Fans of Disney's fairies will cheer Gwendolyn as she helps save Never Land from dragon Kyto, but newcomers to the series will be flummoxed by the preponderance of characters. (c) Copyright 2010. Kirkus Review
Levine reprises her earlier Never Land adventures, Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg (2005) and Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand (2007), in this latest installment and with her newest character, nine-year-old Gwendolyn, a direct descendant of Wendy of Peter Pan fame. Wearing the "kiss" necklace Peter gave Wendy, Gwendolyn's very anxious for him to show up, sprinkle her with fairy dust and whisk her off to Never Land. But when Peter finally does materialize, she has no time for him and the Lost Boys. Indeed, she's far more enchanted with Fairy Haven, Mother Dove and the Never Land fairies, especially Tinker Bell. Initially the fairies distrust Gwendolyn as a clumsy human, but when Fairy Haven is threatened by Kyto, an escaped dragon bent on flame-throwing, she plays a pivotal part. Fans of the Never Land stories will savor Gwendolyn, a thoroughly modern Wendy with a penchant for fairies, as well as Levine's host of fully developed fairy characters as they engage in yet another harrowing quest. Christiana's pastel watercolors feature fairy close-ups. (Fantasy. 6-10)]] Copyright Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
Booklist Review
Gwendoyln, a descendant of Wendy Darling, is thrilled when Peter Pan returns after 100 years to take her to Never Land. Although the framework story dovetails nicely with Barrie's original, once Gwendolyn finds her way to Fairy Haven, Peter Pan and the Lost Boys fade into the background. Spending most of her time with the fairies, Gwendolyn plays a pivotal role in their struggle to capture a dragon. Readers who love stories about diminutive fairies will find plenty of details to enjoy in Levine's third volume for the Disney Fairies series.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2010 Booklist
