Summary:
John Bunyan stuns each new generation of Christians with his insight into the spiritual journey. Bunyan began writing this work while imprisoned for not conforming to the requirements of the state church in England. In the face of these difficulties, Bunyan still considered the trials and temptations that separate us from God and eternal life with Him to be far more important than his "light and momentary sufferings." Given his own circumstances, Bunyan's message is one the modern reader can take to heart. This illustrated edition contains the numerous drawings and engravings that have helped give Bunyan's book its lasting power, in particular by Frederick Barnard, which were engraved by the Dalziel brothers. This edition also includes an index of Bible passages that Bunyan cited. - Back cover.
