Horn Book Review
Babymouse wants to throw herself the best birthday party ever, but then she learns her party will be on the same day as nemesis Felicia's. She tries to outdo Felicia and, in the process, discovers that the best parties don't have to be the grandest. Booklist Review
In this eighteenth volume of the popular graphic novel series, Babymouse plans for the biggest, best birthday party of the year. She remembers all the past disastrous parties zoo animals running amok, an ice-skating rink melting, egg-smashing bumper cars but vows that this year will be absolutely perfect! There's just one problem: Felicia's birthday party will be on the very same day, she is going to have a band and a circus, and worst of all most of Babymouse's friends have already agreed to go to Felicia's party. Will daydreaming Babymouse get the over-the-top perfect birthday she wants? Jennifer and Matthew Holm continue to produce fresh, fun stories in their signature bold style of black, pink, and white illustrations, all of which are packed with silly jokes and feature Babymouse dealing with some of the same problems that the series' young readers will likely face in their own lives jealousy, anticipation, disappointment, and the gratification of having good friends who care. Babymouse fans will love this book, and new readers can jump right in with ease.--Kan, Kat Copyright 2010 Booklist
