Who would have thought that there was anything worse than changing into a woman on nights of the full moon? Marlo certainly didn't. But now his engagement to David Vincent, the handsome skirt-chasing vampire, has been jeopardized by threats from the past. When one of David's former flames sends for him, begging for help, she neglects to include all the details. then a glass of special wine causes some childish complications. And to make matters worse, it seems that David's father has a few secrets of his own that may very well tear David and Marlo apart. Can Marlo and David overcome these pitfalls, or is their love doomed to fail?

Students of fluid gender in some manga will be interested in this unusual shonen ai fantasy. Marlo's father is a vampire, his mother a werewolf, and Marlo...well, instead, he turns into a woman under a full moon. Reuniting with a childhood friend, the vampire David Vincent, Marlo discovers that David has always loved him and still does, no matter what gender he is at any given moment. Their parents decide that the only answer is for the two to marry. Marlo initially resists, but when an old girlfriend of David's threatens to come between them, he finally realizes his true feelings. The detailed artwork by Matoh (author of Tokyopop's Fake) has all the hallmarks and pretty-boy characters of shojo romances. In a scene that may turn some readers' stomachs, Marlo has been transformed into a boy of about ten, and he sleeps with the adult David (though nothing untoward happens). On the wedding night, with Marlo in adult female form, there is one semiexplicit panel. Broccoli rates the book for ages 16+. (c) Copyright 2010.
