Booklist Review

Mallory has been looking forward to her parent's vacation, when her favorite babysitter will be in charge. But instead of a week of fun with Crystal, Mallory begins a week-long obsession with finding out what her brother and his new girlfriend are doing in his bedroom. Friedman doesn't shrink from showing Mallory's flaws, and readers will understand that she feels left out and even driven to snoop. Still, she becomes rather unsympathetic when her first-person narrative stays on the same negative note for so long before the disastrous climax, apologies, and resolution.
